Duru has won “Best Game Beyond Entertainment” at the Deutscher Entwicklerpreis! We are so happy and grateful, thank you!
Life inside the mole rat colony is simple but not always easy. Tuli isn’t the strongest and most certainly not the biggest of the mole rats but she uses her wits and her agility to maneuvre through the tunnels on the lookout for food.
One day she meets Bel, an ominous, six-legged creature that just decided to stick with her. Unsure about its origin and intentions Tuli doesn’t know how to feel about her new companion that only she is able to see.
Duru is a 2D Puzzle Platformer set in a west-african inspired mole rat colony. While solving puzzles with a somewhat unreliable companion players follow the story of Tuli, a story about the struggle with insecurities, darkness and friendship.
The focus of the game is on misunderstandings that can happen in every day social situations with someone who suffers from this illness. It is for those who want to learn about depression but are afraid of the topic. It is also a game for players who are looking for a different approach to puzzle platformers due to the AI game mechanic / companion, that works with and against players.
